Who elects the President in the USA?

The total combined elected members of the senate, the house of representatives and the state legislatures in turn vote to elect the president.

In the USA, people vote to elect their representatives in their states, house of representatives and 50% of the senate members. The total combined elected members of the senate, the house of representatives and the state legislatures in turn vote to elect the president. Together all these bodies are called the electoral college.

During last elections in 2020, Donald Trump, former US President, was defeated by Joe Biden who then became the President.
